The Wine & Herb Festival brings together the wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake for a casual celebration of great wine and fresh herbs. Tour any or all of the 21 wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake where each stop will feature a different herb-themed food pairing matched to a premium VQA wine selected to highlight the flavour and aroma of the herb.

Each of Niagara-on-the-Lake's twenty-one wineries has a unique personality, as distinctive as its wines. Visit large estate wineries, medium–size operations and small boutique wineries. At each winery you’ll find friendly staff, stylish and relaxed tasting rooms and a wide range of wines to sample. Sample rare vintages, special reserves, new releases or small batch specialties – many only available at the winery.
The term “appellation” is commonly applied to wine-growing regions to clearly identify the grape’s (or wine's) origin - e.g. Niagara Peninsula. For terroir wines - those that fully express the type of grape and the specific vineyard(s) or sub-appellation where the grapes are grown, citing the origin on the label is important.
Within Niagara-on-the-Lake, four distinct growing areas - sub-appellations - have been defined: Niagara River, Niagara Lakeshore, Four Mile Creek and the St. David’s Bench.
