A number of Niagara wineries have broadened their focus to inlcude food services as well as wine sampling and sales. Ranging from haute cuisine and multi-course tasting menus to deck, BBQ and patio fare, much of the focus remains on wine - in this case, wine & food pairing.
A clear advantage is that the winery can offer varietals and vintages not available at the LCBO, Vintages or even Niagara's finest restaurants. And, having been so trained, winery wait staff will have intimate knowledge of not only the menu, but the wines on the wine list.
One unique aspect of winery dining is the opportunity to take the wine tasting experience to the table, something a few Niagara wineries offer patrons, if requested.
