Niagara's award-winning restaurants

 
A handful of Niagara chefs and restaurants have set themselves apart with their focus on wine as well as cuisine, offering a broad sampling of VQA wines, including those truly representative of Niagara. Some - OK, a few - offer only Niagara VQA wines, and the Niagara Grapevine applauds their conviction that there is a Niagara VQA wine for every occasion and menu item.

Because most Niagara wineries do not have dining facilities on-site, select Niagara restaurants occasionally feature Niagara VQA wines - usually from a single winery - as the basis for winemakers' dinners. In partnership, Niagara wineries and restaurants orchestrate these unique culinary events - each a multi-course, haute-cuisine banquet prepared by talented chefs and paired with wines selected by the winemaker. As each course and wine are served, the chef and the winemaker explain in detail the preparation of the dish and the character of the wine that makes it a good accompaniment.

Be it amuse bouche, apéritif, hors d'oevres, soupe de jour, fromage, entrée, fini, or digestif, wine is de rigeur for every course. Santé !
